Now This Is Just Nazi Talk
The White House’s recently issued executive order, Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History, is a manifesto for racial pseudoscience. At its core is a sinister attempt to revive the long-discredited notion that race is a biological reality rather than a social construct. This is not about “truth” or “sanity.” It is about re-establishing the foundations of scientific racism and eugenics.
The order takes direct aim at the scholarly consensus that race is a social construct, attacking an exhibit that states:
“Sculpture has been a powerful tool in promoting scientific racism” and promotes the view that race is not a biological reality but a social construct, stating “Race is a human invention.”
This attack on the idea that race is a human invention makes the White House’s intent clear: they are trying to resurrect the idea that race is biologically real. And this is no mere philosophical stance—it is the core of every racist ideology that has ever justified oppression, subjugation, and genocide.
The overwhelming consensus among geneticists, anthropologists, and historians is clear: race is a social construct. While human genetic diversity certainly exists, the categories of race are arbitrary, historically contingent, and socially enforced. There is no distinct set of genes that define a person as “Black,” “White,” or any other racial category. These classifications are the product of colonialism, exploitation, and power, not biology.
But this executive order seeks to undo decades of social progress to return to a world where race is something inherent, fixed, and measurable. And why? Because if race is a biological fact rather than a social system, then racial hierarchies can be justified as “natural.” If race is encoded in our DNA, then racial disparities are not the product of oppression but of biology. This is the oldest trick in the eugenicist playbook: recasting inequality as a biological inevitability.
It is the same racist pseudoscience promoted by our very own white supremacist William McGimpsey, who likes to assert that different racial groups have different average IQs—a claim that has been debunked countless times but persists as a convenient justification for racist policies.
And the dangers do not stop with race. If race is defined in an essentialist way—rooted purely in biology—then gender/gender identity will be erased as well, with only sex asserted as the proper foundation for human rights.
This is the broader authoritarian project: to enforce rigid, immutable categories that serve state control, which will also erase trans people by denying the legitimacy of gender identity just as it erases the social reality of race. A government that dictates biology as destiny is a government that denies the fundamental rights of anyone who does not conform.
History shows us that this is not just abstract rhetoric. The belief in race as a biological truth was the foundation for forced sterilisation programmes in the United States, where Black, Indigenous, and disabled people were deemed genetically inferior and unfit to reproduce. It was the justification for Nazi Germany’s Nuremberg Laws, which classified people based on pseudo-scientific racial categories, determining who was allowed to marry, who was allowed to work, and ultimately, who was allowed to live.
The executive order presents itself as a defence of “historical truth,” but in reality, it is an attempt to legitimise racial essentialism and state control over identity. By declaring race to be biologically real, it opens the door to policies that enforce racial separation, promote racial purity, and punish those who exist outside its rigid definitions. This is how apartheid is rationalised. This is how genocide is justified.
Make no mistake: this is not about defending history. It is about rewriting it to serve an agenda of racial hierarchy. It is a call for a return to the darkest chapters of the 20th century, where science was weaponised to categorise, control, and eliminate.
This is not truth.
This is not sanity.
This is Nazi rhetoric in its purest form.
Trump and his administration are fascists.
